Temple Beth-El

Temple Beth-El is a large and vibrant reform congregation on Long Island that previously occupied a complex of three distinct, interconnected buildings built in various stages between the 1920s and 1970s. BBB's primary focus was the demolition of the existing antiquated school building and the construction of a new 32,200 SF 2-story school to house the large religious and nursery school programs. The new structure includes functional space for religious and social assembly, mechanical, administrative and multifunction spaces, meeting rooms, a catering kitchen, and a new main entrance. In addition, BBB has renovated the existing buildings and updated mechanical and life safety systems throughout the facility. The second phase was the selective demolition and restoration, complete with new MEP/FP systems, of the existing 19,000 SF historic chapel building that housed the original congregation's sanctuary. The third phase involved minor interior and exterior repairs to the existing 49,300 SF sanctuary building.
