Replacing a former municipal parking lot in downtown New Rochelle, this eight-story development provides distinct urban living within an established mid-rise context.
Situated between New Rochelle’s rapidly redeveloping downtown and the quiet residential neighborhoods next to the Long Island Sound, 25 Maple Street consists of 184 market-rate apartments, residential amenities, ground-floor retail, parking for residents, and 200 public parking spaces. BBB’s design recalls the loft-style character of Main Street with a contemporary interpretation of oversized windows, masonry facades, and metal accents, and with zoning-required setbacks that break down the building massing and create landscaped terraces for private and communal use. The interior spaces are designed to bring contemporary urban living to New Rochelle with an aesthetic that is foremost comfortable and warm. BBB’s design lets residents choose between two distinct palettes in their units: a warmer palette featuring light natural woods and stone quartz countertops, and a cooler palette contrasting white kitchen cabinetry, concrete quartz countertops, and a subway tile backsplash.
