Church Pension Group

BBB's design consolidates and relocates the Church Pension Group headquarters, featuring an efficient open work place strategy and a unique combination of modern and spiritually inspired spaces and details.

BBB provided planning and interior design services for the Church Pension Group (CPG), an investment armature of the Episcopal Church. After an initial programming phase, BBB prepared several test-fit studies for different properties. A turn-of-the-century landmark building on Fifth Avenue was ultimately selected, and the CPG headquarters were consolidated and relocated to 150,000 SF on five contiguous floors plus a penthouse. The project includes completely new base building MEP infrastructure and structural modifications to the floor slabs in order to improve upon previously unusable floor configurations, as well as the design of the interior spaces and the specification of all furniture and fixtures. Staff members now have efficient open work spaces of the same size, which promote collaboration and teaming, and has improved CPG's efficiency while solving capital costs and future change management budgets. The majority of the open work spaces are located along the well-lighted perimeter of the floor plates, with areas that are situated at the core taking advantage of natural light streaming in from 10 foot high windows.
