Jerry M. Schmit

Architectural Designer


Jerry M. Schmit is an Architectural Designer with a passion for historic buildings. He was drawn to architecture by his interest in drawing—across a variety of techniques, from architectural rendering by hand, to paper collage—which continues to shape his professional work. Jerry has prior experience in the design of commercial and historic institutional projects as well as single-family residential. In 2023, he served as the Adolf Placzek Fellow at the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission, researching New York’s historic churches. He holds a Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Columbia University. Jerry interned with BBB during the summers of 2022 and 2024 and returned full-time in 2025.
