The six-story building was constructed in 1938 and houses the Department of Economics, administrative suites for the Sloan School of Management, and an Institute conference center in the former home of the Faculty Club.
Bold wayfinding graphics composed on colorful, full-height panels aid in clarifying the building’s varied program. Building naming and donor recognition signage contributes to the clean, modern interiors palette. Both graphics and architecture interpret the original building’s Civic Deco style with bold color and geometries. Custom-designed slat walls with integrated backlit numerals—with a unique pattern generated for each floor—are both decorative and functional, providing orientation and distinguishing the floors and department uses.
