“As architects, we advance our mission through projects that contribute to our communities, our cities and beyond. In today’s world, there couldn’t be a more meaningful project than helping to create the US Diplomacy Center.” – Partner Hany Hassan

On the evening of January 10, 2017, Hany Hassan, Jill Cavanaugh, and Rence Gill were honored to attend a reception celebrating the completion of the US Diplomacy Center Museum Pavilion, hosted by Secretary of State John Kerry with remarks by former Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright, Colin Powell, and Hillary Clinton.

In 2006, the GSA sponsored a Design Excellence competition for the new Diplomacy Center and Museum at the State Department Building and selected Hany Hassan as Lead Designer for the new lobby and exhibition pavilion, development of fundraising materials, and restoration of historic spaces. The reception represented the culmination of nearly a decade of design diligence and technical excellence. BBB is honored to have played such a pivotal role in completing the first Museum of Diplomacy in the United States.

BBB was recognized several times during remarks by both Undersecretary Kennedy and Secretary of State Kerry, and received commemorative coins in honor of the event.
