BLDG 92 Achieves LEED Platinum Rating

We are thrilled to announce that BLDG92 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard has achieved LEED Platinum certification from the US Green Buildings Council. The achievement advances the Navy Yard's mission to operate as a leading sustainable industrial park and establishes BLDG 92 as a model for the successful adaptive reuse of a historic building.

BLDG92 is projected to use 44% less energy than a baseline code compliant building. An open loop geo-exchange HVAC system eliminated the need for unsightly cooling towers and reliance on fossil fuels on site. In addition, through a combination of green roofs, porous pavement, water-efficient landscaping and rain water harvesting, the BLDG92 site design outperformed sustainable design benchmarks in 12 of 15 LEED site categories.
