Carmen Menocal
Carmen Menocal brings a strong voice and a passion for transformative design to all her projects. She is known for her ability to guide large and complex projects from concepts to execution with clarity and precision. Her leadership is grounded by a commitment to creating an inclusive environment where diverse voices are captured in both the process and the result.
Carmen’s expertise in design, planning, and programming is informed by more than 20 years working across all phases of design and construction—for both new buildings and large-scale renovation projects—with a particular focus on higher education, religious, and other institutional clients.
Her clients include Colgate University, Cornell University, Georgetown University, Harvard Hillel, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton Theological Seminary, Temple Emanu-El, Union Theological Seminary, the University of Pennsylvania, and many others.
In addition to her architectural work, Carmen has been instrumental in promoting diversity and inclusion within BBB, having been involved in establishing the Open Channel group, a predecessor to the firm's EDI initiatives, and in spearheading the firm’s pay equity initiative, which has enhanced transparency and parity in staff compensation.
Carmen received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Architecture from Barnard College and a Master of Architecture from Yale School of Architecture. She joined BBB in 2010.
