Smithsonian Institution, National Museum of Natural History, Hall 26

BBB was the architect for the complete design, construction documents, and construction administration for the renovation of Hall 26 at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History. The renovated space includes a humidity controlled exhibit hall to house varied temporary exhibits, as well as a supporting exhibit preparation and storage room, a visitor lounge, and a public access corridor to accommodate wall-mounted exhibits along the building perimeter. The renovation uncovers and restores existing historic structures and features including windows along the building perimeter. Hall 26 previously accommodated a permanent exhibit that had been installed in the 1960s.
