Kansas City Power & Light District Honored with Two Awards

The Kansas City Power & Light District was one of ten outstanding developments from the Americas to be selected as a winner of the Urban Land Institute's Awards for Excellence, widely recognized as the land use industry's most prestigious recognition program. The District was also honored with a Kansas City Business Journal "Capstone Community Impact Award," which cited the project as a key component in the revitalization of downtown Kansas City.

The Power & Light District replaces an undeveloped and barren landscape of parking lots and abandoned structures with a new entertainment, retail, and mixed-use development on eight city blocks in the heart of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Adjacent to the new Sprint Center arena, the convention center and the downtown, the District is comprised of a mix of restaurants, nightclubs, retail space and residential lofts, as well as a vibrant pedestrian environment connecting these venues.
